Vibrant tones and luxurious materials combine to make this Jordan 1 Retro High OG an alluring sneaker. Its brightest colour is a powerful shade of orange known as Starfish, which appears first on the outsole. This grippy piece of rubber contains the AJ1’s classic traction patterns, with circular structures below the forefoot allowing easy movement and lugs under the heel to steady the wearer. An aged, off-white midsole sits atop this, inside which there is a mixture of foam and Air cushioning for high-quality comfort.

Starfish returns on the upper’s overlays, which are placed over a white base layer. This can be seen through the toe box, whose lines of perforations aerate the foot, and the midfoot panels, which have a line of stitching that points back towards the heel. Just behind this, the midfoot tapers into the heel. Placed over these white sections are the familiar Jordan 1 overlays, here in Starfish. Each is made of super-luxe, semi-matt faux leather with a slightly textured exterior, bringing a high-class feel to the sneaker. These vivid panels form the forefoot mudguard and the overlays behind it, the eyestay, the heel counter and the collar wrap.

The high-top collar comes in a deep shade of brown called Cacao Wow, a colour that also shows up on the Air Jordan Wings logo on its lateral side. Starfish laces criss-cross over the vintage tongue, which has an off-white hue that matches the midsole and orange Nike Air branding on the label sewn into it. Inside, more deluxe materials have been used as white fleece lines the collar and inner walls. Meanwhile, the white sockliner carries another set of Starfish Nike Air text. This tone occurs one more time on the swooshes that adorn the shoe’s flanks, adding a dynamic finishing touch to this striking sneaker.
