Nike Air Force 1 Low x Travis Scott
"Cactus Jack"

This Nike Air Force 1 Low x Travis Scott sneaker features various eccentric elements, giving a look that is quite unlike any other AF1 design. A light gum tone starts things off on the outsole, whose grippy rings offer excellent traction underfoot. This attaches to a cream-coloured midsole with foam cushioning through the front half of the foot and a pocket of Nike Air in the heel that is highlighted by the embossed lettering on the lateral side of its exterior. The stitching that sits in the groove around its top edge comes in a pleasant shade of pale green, thus setting the tone for the broad colour variation seen across the rest of the shoe.
While the upper has been constructed in a similar way to other AF1 sneakers, with the same overlays in the forefoot and rear, a perforated toe box, midfoot panels and trademark sidewall swooshes, everything has been divided into more sections decorated in elaborate designs and made from a mix of high quality workwear materials. These reflect the inspiration behind the shoe: Scott’s childhood memories of spending time on farms with his grandmother. The forefoot is made from navy blue canvas on the lateral side, deep grey suede on the toe and dark brown corduroy on the medial side. The toe box comes in durable grey leather, and above this, the eyestay has been split into a bottom and top half – the former forged from light brown suede, the latter pale turquoise leather through the lateral side and smooth beige suede on the other. A small swoosh has been embroidered into its front end, just below the laces, which can be off-white, black or brown depending on the wearer’s preference.
On the midfoot and heel, the dichotomy between the medial and lateral sides continues. The lateral midfoot features a woven burlap material that has been split down the middle to produce two different tones – lilac and a rich golden colour. Written across both in Russian cyrillic script is the name of Scott’s record label, Cactus Jack, which is also the shoe’s nickname. Moving into the heel overlay on the lateral side, there is more burlap, this time in a slightly different shade of golden brown with a tree branch graphic in black that switches to light grey as it enters the back of the heel. Stretching over the top of this lateral flank is a canvas swoosh in another appealing brown hue.
Meanwhile, on the medial side, there is black corduroy at the front of the midfoot panel and light green burlap on the back half with the tree branch design over it in white. The rear overlay is made of teal burlap with Cactus Jack records printed in Russian once more, before the rear portion changes to a bright yellow burlap with additional dark blue graphics. Finishing things off on the medial side is another canvas swoosh that dons camo shading.
Elsewhere, the heel panel is made of fuzzy grey wool with Nike Air branding sewn into it in black. Below this is a canvas strap in the same tone as the lateral swoosh. It is connected on the shoe’s lateral side via a golden metal button that has been embossed with “MC” on the left foot and “TX” on the right. The former stands for Missouri City – a place where Scott spent much of his youth – and the latter represents Texas – the rapper’s home state.
Over the laces is a thick shroud with navy blue canvas on the medial side and black corduroy on the lateral half. Down the centre is a robust brass zip that can be undone to reveal the laces and tongue underneath or completely removed if preferred. The tongue itself is made of black and white patterned flannel fabric with a branded label sewn into the top. Grey brown mesh forms the padded inner lining, while the insoles exhibit a range of rich tones, such as blue and black, with a tartan graphic and Nike Air text completing this one-of-a-kind sneaker.
