Nike Air Force 1 Shadow

This pair of Nike Air Force 1 Shadows has a mirrored design and extra layering for an exaggerated look. Two similar off-white tones of Phantom and Sail work together beside a range of browns and beiges to give this sneaker a compelling colour palette. Underfoot, the central section of the outsole comes in one of these off-white hues, while the other encircles the lugs and star-shaped grip features that provide traction all the way around the edge of the shoe. Off-white continues through the midsole, which has been lifted for extra elevation. A Photon Dust rubber panel wraps around the lateral heel, its embossed branding mirroring the Air lettering underneath so that two sets of capitalised text are visible.

Additional overlays rest across the upper, which is mostly made of premium tumbled leather, meaning that it has a lightly textured exterior. Meanwhile, the forefoot is formed of three layers. Firstly, the base is an off-white toe box with perforations arranged in regular lines that create a grid pattern. Secondly, a Photon Dust overlay covers the vamp as far back as the midfoot panel. Thirdly, another off-white overlay sits atop these other two, obscuring most of the first overlay on the lateral side before disappearing into the midsole on the medial side to reveal more of the Photon Dust colouring underneath.

The eyestay and lace dubrae are both off-white as well, but a thin layer of Photon Dust can be seen on the lateral side as it protrudes from beneath the primary eyestay. Dual tongue patches decorate the top of the foot, one with Earth-coloured Nike Air text, the other exhibiting a light tan hue. This duo of colours also decorates the swooshes, with tan on the medial side and Earth on the lateral one, underneath which a Photon Dust swoosh appears at a slightly different angle to it. Two sets of Nike Air branding are printed on the soft mesh of the insole, and this flexible material continues up the inner lining to the top of the collar.

At the back of the shoe, the heel panel lends it a hint of luxury via plush suede and a scaly design. The scales on the left foot are small and tightly packed, while those on the right are much larger, bringing an intriguing variation to each. Nike text has been embroidered into it in a slightly darker tone to the tan of the heel panel. A second Photon Dust panel with black Nike lettering is evident behind this, as is a small portion of the heel strip, thus completing this sneaker with more characteristic layered effects.
