Jordan 1 Retro High

The trio of tones displayed on this Jordan 1 Retro High define it as a Chicago colourway. Modelled after the 1985 original, it is constructed upon a sturdy rubber outsole coated in a Varsity Red hue. Its combination of concentric rings in the forefoot and lugs around the heel make it a strong and sturdy base to walk on, while the white midsole adds comfort to the mix via its blend of foam cushioning and encapsulated Air.

High-quality leather forms the various panels that comprise the upper, with all three familiar tones on show across its surface. White acts as the underlayer, appearing along the midfoot panels as they stretch and narrow towards the heel, and the toe box, with its lines of breathable perforations. Varsity Red overlays constitute the forefoot mudguard and the pair of panels behind it, as well as making up the eyestay, the heel counter and the collar wrap. This last feature embraces the black collar and has a set of Air Jordan Wings pressed into its lateral side in the same dark tone.

Meanwhile, inside the shoe, a padded black lining helps protect the ankle, before the white insole hosts black Nike Air branding that faces in opposing directions on each foot. Black laces criss-cross over the white tongue, and the Varsity Red patch sewn into its peak has white Nike Air text woven through it. In the centre of the heel is a small square of Varsity Red leather with two white lines stitched across it and two bands of black leather emerging from its sides. These broaden as they reach down the sneaker’s sidewalls to become the powerful black swooshes that round off the iconic look of this classic Air Jordan design.
