Jordan 1 Retro High OG

This Jordan 1 Retro High OG features a pair of captivating shades of blue, one of which gives a nod to Michael Jordan’s college alma mater. White lies between the two, balancing this sneaker to tonal perfection. Obsidian – the darker of the blues – starts things off as it works its way through the complex grip structures of the outsole. From heel to toe, these go from linear to circular, thus facilitating an array of movement patterns. Placed atop this solid foundation is a white midsole filled with foam and Air cushioning to lighten each step.

More Obsidian can be found on the upper, primarily in the forefoot, whose overlays are infused with its deep navy tones. Meanwhile, the toe box, which is full of breathable perforations, is coated in a counterbalancing shade of white. The eyestay is also Obsidian, as are the collar, the laces and the swooshes that adorn the flanks. These last leather panels lie across the white midfoot on each side, with both pieces extending backwards to the rear of the shoe, where they move between the heel counter below and the collar wrap above. These heel overlays display the shoe’s other, lighter azure hue – University Blue.

The branding effects found across this sneaker all combine Obsidian and University Blue. Firstly, there is a set of Air Jordan Wings in the former tone debossed into the lateral collar, which comes in the latter colour. Then, the label which has been sewn into the top of the white tongue has University Blue Nike Air text upon an Obsidian background. Inside the shoe, the same tonal arrangement can be seen as the entire inner has been decorated in the darker blue, and the Nike Air branding on the insole stands out beautifully in University Blue to finish off this desirable high-top sneaker.
