Nike Air Force 1 PLT.AF.ORM

This Nike Air Force 1 PLT.AF.ORM is a stylish variation on the original silhouette with a graceful colour scheme of whites and greens. The sole unit comes completely in an off-white shade called Sail. It has been lifted to give the wearer added elevation, and a groove runs around the back of the heel all the way to the midfoot, giving it a layered appearance. Bold Air lettering has been embossed over the top of this on the lateral side of the heel to indicate the use of Nike’s soft cushioning technology within. Meanwhile, underfoot, the classic pivot-circles emanate in deep lines outwards from one point under the heel and another below the forefoot.

White tumbled leather stretches across much of the upper, covering the forefoot overlay, the toe box, the midfoot panels and the rear section. A flat seam with delicate stitching connects these last two parts, but each flank has a slightly different look. The swooshes, which feature the rich tone of Oil Green, have been shifted from their usual positions, the medial one disappearing under the forefoot overlay and the lateral one starting just in front of the heel panel before extending forwards to touch the back edge of the toe box. Behind this lateral swoosh, a section has been cut through the midfoot and rear panels, creating the effect of another swoosh in white.

Over the top of the foot, the toe box has just a few small perforations for a minimalist look, and plush Sail suede makes up the eyestay. The laces are white, as is the metal lace lock, which is etched with a grey swoosh inside a fine rectangular outline. Beneath this, the tongue is white and adorned with elegant Oil Green Nike branding that has its own unique look. It is made up of a small swoosh with the word “Nike” arranged in a curved line of capitalised letters above it. The padded collar is also white, while the insole presents a bright offering through the use of Volt. It has the same compelling branding graphic as that seen on the tongue, which shows up here in black over the Volt heel panel, adding a final splash of vibrant colour to this appealing sneaker.
